White Chocolate Bread Pudding
Created for the Chocolate Wine Trail, this old-fashioned comfort food marries grandma's favorite dessert with white chocolate and Stone Hill's Vignoles wine.
9 slices bread (preferably day-old)
1 cup sugar
2 cups milk
1 12-ounce can evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 egg yolks
1/3 cup melted butter
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon sugar
Tear bread and place in bottom of 8 x 12-inch pan. In bowl, mix sugar, milk, evaporated milk, vanilla, egg yolks and butter. Pour mixture over bread. Add white chocolate chips and toss. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake for about 15 minutes in 450-degree oven.
Before serving, heat until smooth A Perfect Pear® White Chocolate Pear Chardonnay Sauce and drizzle over bread pudding. (Sauce available in our gift shop.)
